This project is inspired by an image I took in Mexico and a pattern that was on a purse I purchased there. The painting uses oil paints to create a one point perspective of a walking street and combines the bright colors of the culture of Mexico in the painting. The oil paint for the street was laid down thick and intentionally left raised in order to portray a hand stitched pattern that was on a purse that was handmade from Mexico. The bright colors in the front of the street are intentionally the same as those on the purse but as the street recedes the colors get more dull and blend together to create a one point perspective.
